AACI CRI Education and Operations Subcommittee aims to address challenges with monitoring staff productivity, establish effort metrics for staff working remotely, assure timely and accurate data collection, reopen trials, conduct trial audits, and assess training and onboarding of staff to the CTO.

Good Documentation Practices for Oncology Clinical Research
The subcommittee compiled a list of competencies and created a standardized training module to help fill gaps for oncology research staff. This customizable competency template describes good documentation practices with the ALCOA+ principles. Cancer centers can use them to assess the understanding of these two topics at their respective centers when onboarding and training staff.

Standard Training Template Checklist
The subcommittee developed a standard training template checklist describing the tasks required, their suggested timelines, and requirements for observation, acknowledgement, or return demonstrations. Additionally, a list of "firsts" was developed to help create a mentorship bridge between what a new employee has been taught in training and the first time they do them in their position.

Onboarding and Retaining Clinical Research Staff - Recommendations and Benchmarks
The subcommittee saw a need to address centers' inability to retain staff and to identify ways to improve retention. They collected information on and reported their findings on the descriptions of CTO roles, training curriculum for onboarding each position, and expected timeframes for role-based training and outcomes.
