Budget Cuts Threaten the Future of Cancer Research

The president's final budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2026 slashes the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ budget by 25.2 percent overall, and cuts funding for the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute by 40.4 percent and 37.2 percent, respectively.
